The Gene Café Coffee Roaster is very popular with home roasters, thanks to its excellent roasting results with very simple operation, but also due to its price-performance ratio. It is a convection roaster; i.e. it roasts the coffee using hot air. The beans (max. 250 grams) are constantly turned so that they roast evenly. The device is controlled by two wheels: one for the temperature supply, which controls the temperature in degrees up to 250°C, and one for the time. This allows you to quickly and easily intervene in the roasting process and adjust the curve during roasting.
The roasting drum is a glass can (16cm high, 11cm diameter), so you can see the beans very well and can assess the roasting process visually (watching for change in size, colour, peeling, smoke, etc.). The smoke is evacuated through an "exhaust" – you can install a hose here to lead the smoke directly through the window to the outside (instructions can be found on the Internet).
